The Fieldhouse Elite Club Team Program and Basketball Academy presents an exciting new approach to developing premier basketball players and providing exposure to college coaches. Unlike typical "AAU" programs where the focus is merely assembling talent to play in tourneys -- with rosters that may vary from event to event -- The Fieldhouse program employs an instruction and training driven Academy approach focused on a commitment to total player development both on and off the court.
Fieldhouse Elite teams are formed through an open evaluation process for players entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2009. Players may also be invited and recommended by coaches and through in-person scouting at junior and senior high school games as well as summer competitions and camps. Fieldhouse Elite teams compete at events offering the highest levels of competition available - both locally and on a national basis where appropriate -- many of which generally will have hundreds of college coaches in attendance.
The Fieldhouse Elite program however is about much more than playing games. The program employs an Academy approach -- focused on total player development with an emphasis on advanced training techniques and fundamental skill improvement. Players will have traditional practices where they receive "typical" coaching on game situations. But those practices will also be complimented by group workouts focused entirely on individual skill development and basketball-specific athletic performance enhancement. These workouts are led by the accredited Academy instructors recognized nationwide as some of the premier trainers in the game. In fact, our instructors conducted the NBA pre-draft training for three first round draft picks in the 2008 NBA draft. Equally importantly, the Academy will also help ensure each player is educated in. and in compliance with, NCAA academic eligibility standards -- including recommendations for academic counseling if necessary.
With a focus on enforcing team skills, individual player development, and academic performance, no other program takes this complete player development approach designed to create players of quality and character both on and off the court.
The program is based at The Fieldhouse, the facility national AAU and USSSA officials have called "the finest basketball facility of its kind in the United States!" Our six court facility features the latest in state-of-the-art training equipment and flooring and is easily accessible from I-69, just 5 minutes north of I-465. Our facility was designed to set a new standard for quality, the Fieldhouse Elite program will be held to that same standard.
