The Fieldhouse Summer Premier League Rules
The Fieldhouse offers the finest competitive league play available in the state of Indiana for youth of all ages. Each grade level offers A, B, and even C divisions where appropriate to insure proper levels of competition for all skill levels. League “seasons” include 8 regular season games followed by a single elimination playoff. Seeded playoffs are held as a festive weekend event in order to capture the true fervor and pageantry of Indiana tournament basketball. Only IHSAA officially licensed referees will be employed in order to maintain the integrity of the game Hoosiers love. Team entry fees are $525 per season and must be paid in full by Week Two.
All Fieldhouse leagues shall be governed by IHSAA rules with the following exceptions. School teams must play in the grade division of their oldest player. At the discretion of The Fieldhouse, "All Star" and other non-school based travel teams may be required to play up one grade level above the grade of their oldest player in order to maintain the competitive balance of the league. All players must be listed on the official team roster with corresponding parent signature to be eligible to participate. Coaches must be prepared to establish all players are eligible to participate in that grade division by producing a current grade report for each player, if requested. Players may not be "double-rostered" on teams within the same grade and division.

Teams using illegal players will forfeit all games played to date -- whether or not the illegal player participated in those games. A second violation of this rule will result in the team being removed from the league without refund. All rosters must be finalized by WEEK TWO of each season. A coach or player ejected from a game shall be suspended for the following game. A second violation in the same season will result in a suspension for the remainder of that season.
For Grades 3 - High School, games shall be played in two fourteen-minute halves with a stop clock format. A running clock shall be used if a team has a lead of twenty points or larger in the second half. No full court pressing or half court trapping zone defenses of any kind may be played by teams with a lead of twenty points or larger. Halftime shall be three minutes in length and overtime periods will be two minutes. Each team shall provide one volunteer to assist at the scoring table. Teams in 3rd grade shall not be allowed to press until the second half.

For Grades 1 & 2, full court press is prohibited at all times. Teams are required to play man-to-man defense to teach the players basic fundamental defensive principles. No player has made a travel team when he got older because he "plays a great zone!" Trapping is not allowed outside the lane. However proper help defense is allowed. Coaches are required to coach their team within the spirit of the rules. For example, a coach who continually runs clear out or isolation plays may be determined to be in violation of the rules. Foul shots shall be approximately 12’ in length. Game times shall be two twelve minute halves, goal height is 9'.
